ok let's get started.
yesterday i finally got my ass into the shower and came out feeling refreshed, with energy to actually get something done. i decided not to do groceries because standing around in the grocery store makes my feet hurt and i was trying to save my feet for the show because i knew i'd be standing alot. for those of you who don't know i have a foot condition so i try not to be on my feet for too long otherwise i'll be in excruciating pain. so i decided instead to go to my parents house because they have some leftover chinese that they wanted me to take when they went to hawaii. but i forgot. then we had that game night there and we brought 2 sodas. AND my dad had bought a carton of Publix brand chocolate almond ice cream for me (these are the only people that have this ice cream...no one else has it) and its just been sitting there.
so i go to my parents house. there i am on bird rd at 3ish and traffic is at a stand still. i was literally parked on the rd for like 10 min. thank god my car has ac, and thank god for a cell phone. i used it to take a picture of this place i saw on the side of the road. it had real tombstones outside and signs in spanish boasting discounts on tombstones and other funeral services. check out this sign for SPEEDY CREMATION. only in miami.

eventually it cleared up and i make it to bird and 117th ave when all of a sudden from the corner of my eye i see a guy selling mamoncillos!!! (i should write a separate post on my obsession with mamoncillos. basically you can't get them anywhere. they don't sell them in any stores. at least not in miami. i love these things. but its only very rare that you'll see someone selling them on the side of the road. and chances are you'll never see them on that street again.) ahh yes...the elusive mamoncillo guy. so what do i do? i swerve over 2 lanes, pull into the burger king parking lot and honk my horn at the guy. i ask him how much, he says $2. ---side bar: the bags were half the size of the bags you used to get back in the day, and back then they were only $1, but whatever i'm just sayin--- so i look in my wallet and my stupid ass only has $3!! so i gave him the $3 and 4 quarters i found in the car and bought two bags.
i was kicking myself because i knew 2 bags was nothin. nothin! i'd go through that in a day, easy. so i went to miller square, get off, go to the atm (presto!) machine in front of publix, get some cash, go to mcdonalds (by then i was starving), get lunch, take it to my parents house, eat, then pack up the stuff (soda, chinese food, ice cream) and head back over to the mamoncillo guy. this time i give him $6 and buy 3 more bags. ps. i had to do some French Connection type maneuvers to get to this guy coming from the other direction. sure 5 bags should hold me for a while. but still. who knows when i'll ever see another guy selling them?
you know they could make sooo much money if they created a website and took orders from all over the country! i mean duh! why hasn't anyone done this yet? because they're all refs. no offense but its true. they don't even speak english let alone know how to work email. so how can i expect them to know that they could be making money online? if i knew better spanish i would work with them. but i don't.
oh well. so i'm coming home with a car full of goodies. what an adventure!
i go home, wait for the signal from ed, then go pick him up from work, come home, do my make up, and then we were off......
end of pt 1. please flip tape.
