Does anyone have any extra unflavored protein powder laying around? I want something I can mix in with crystal light when I get sick of the Isopure drinks. Lately I'm getting sick of stuff within a couple of sips.
If no one has any extra laying around that they can send me, can anyone suggest a decent protein powder for the clear liquids phase? I know its not tasteless, but whats the least nasty tasting one?
I need Feedback people!!

I will have to revisit this post... I would love to know the answer... But I don't use protein powder yet. My doctor told me not to drink any calories so I just drink sugar free iced tea 4C totally light is my favorite and it has no calories. I need to add protein powder against doctor's advice because since my last fill, I can't get enough protein in each day... I will check back to see the comments. *Maria*-Blogger from "This one time at BAND Camp..." Check out my blog at mybigfatbandgeeklife.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteMeli - I HIGHLY recommend the Pure unflavored protein powder from bariatriceating.com. I have a terrible time finding protein supplements of any sort that I could stomach. I tried some unflavored from GNC, and it was completely atrocious. Another blog buddy sent me some Isopure, and I couldn't do that. I was given the pretty decent ready-to-drink chocolate thingy from Costco, and I couldn't do that.
ReplyDeleteI talked to someone at bariatric eating, and she recommended this Pure brand. She is a band patient, and told me she could handle this one, so I gave it a shot. It's the only one I've been able to tolerate.
It's pretty pricey, $30 for a 21 serving supply. It's got 24g of protein, I think. It's designed to mix into small amounts of liquid. You have to do it right, but I've gotten it to mix into about 3 or 4 tablespoons of milk.
I've mixed it into soups and chocolate milk, but what I do most often is mix it into an ice cream malt. I got a knock off Magic Bullet, mix up my protein, through in a scoop of delicious ice cream, maybe a spoon of peanut butter, and then a little bit of malt. Completely delicious treat, and you'd never know it was protein packed.
Let me know if you have questions, sorry for the long post!
i love the long post! very informative! i hope i can find it elsewhere because the thought of dealing with the bariatriceating people gives me a headache.
ReplyDeleteI use Isopure Zero unflavored (and flavored) protein powder. For protein drinks, I use Isopure Zero vanilla and DaVinci sugar free syrups to make the drink whatever flavor I want. I use the unflavored mostly in cooking. It's expensive, but it mixes easily with a spoon, no clumps. I live in a rural area so I look for the lowest price on the internet. Last time I checked it was supplmentwarehouse.com
ReplyDeletei ended up ordering the unjury unflavored sample packs. i figured that would be enough to get me by. i didn't want to order a tub of anything.
