I've been doing more research and I'm really starting to lean towards getting the vertical sleeve.
My endo suggestion I do it. But I hadn't researched it. I just really ignored that option because I wanted the band. But upon reading more about it I really can't find a down side. Its a lot better than the bypass. Every option has its pros and cons. But from what I read about the sleeve I don't really see any big cons. Except that I would have to wait like 2 yrs till getting preggers. Which sucks!!! But i'm willing to be a good girl and wait if it means having a healthy pregnancy and baby.
I'm not 100% sure about it just yet. I have the information seminar (take 2) tonight where I'll get more info and we'll see. At this point you guys, its not so much what I do just that I am able to do something. Please please God let my insurance cover me. I understand it may be a long road full of hoops I have to jump through and appeals but I am ready willing and able to take these on. Please God let me do this. Give me this chance. I need this. I wasn't ready a year ago but I'm finally ready now.
*Please please please*

I hope no matter what you finally chose, you get to have your procedure! You are young and deserve to have everything you have ever wanted in life, especially a baby!! But I do feel like the band is a better choice (maybe I am partial) for people who are younger, and who want to have babies, with the band you have restriction that is adjustable. That means after baby weight you can have restriction added and start new, unlike bypass or the sleeve that you may stretch out again. Also you can have the salene taken out during pregnancy so baby will get proper nutrition. I am not very well educated on the other procedures, but just some stuff to think about. Good luck with your decision!!!
ReplyDeletethanks beth. i will definitely be asking about that and many more questions today and see what they say.
ReplyDeleteWe'll love you no matter what you chose!
ReplyDeletethank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy would we hate you? You need to make the decision that is right for you. Those who truly care will and do understand that and support you.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder about the sleeve versus the band, considering your desire to have children in the future. I would suggest talking to docs and patients who have had both and have had babies. They can give you all the information you need to make an informed decision.
thanks for the support you guys! it means a lot to me. this decision will not be made lightly, trust me. especially with the pregnancy issue.
