Welcome to the babble!

Warning: I talk a lot! About anything and everything. I don't hold back. So buckle up.

in 2010 I got the gastric sleeve and I couldn't be happier with my decision. My new life has finally begun!

Finally in 2012 I got my life's wish of being pregnant. Now this blog has transitioned from random blabber, to weight loss, to being a new mommy.
It's ever changing and ever evolving, just like me.

LOOK AT MY GORGEOUS NIECE!!!

Isn't she just precious?!! I could just eat her up!

This is Ed's brother Adam's baby. Amani Marie Toro.

How to record using built in isight on mac

Ever since I got my mac i've been really frustrated that there's this great built in camera but i can't record with it. I can take pics, i can chat live, but not record. why would they do that? GRRR!!!

well today i finally found a way to do it!! woohoo! best part is, its super easy. and you should have everything you need on your mac. if its 1 or 2 yrs old you should have a new enough version of quicktime already on your mac. if not, its free to upgrade.

all the info you need is on this page.

Enjoy!!

i think i'm gonna regret this

have you ever eaten something and in the middle of eating it you realize it tasted weird and you know its probably gonna give you diarrhea later but you're hungry so you eat it anyway?

eat now. regret it later.

4th of July

My 4th of July was very modest. Kind of a bust but the food was good.

I made these kick ass turkey burgers. No recipe or anything. I just got 2 lbs of ground turkey and mushed it up with my hands. Then chopped up green pepper, onion, mushrooms very very fine. I kneaded them into the ground turkey. I also chopped up some cilantro and added that as well. Then I sprinkeed plenty of Sazon Completa from BADIA and added Worcestershire sauce and mixed it all in there. Then I formed patties and this is what they looked like pre-grill.

There are no pics of the finished product as we scarfed them down.

We also had corn on the cob and two kinds of potato salad.

Here are some pics from early in the day. We got a late start and it got cloudy just after this and got progressively worse throughout the day/night. Then it was a major lightening show. Between the thunder, lightening, and fireworks it was really scary being outside grilling.

The best part about the whole thing? The burgers! They were a big hit! We took them home and had them for bfast on saturday. and then today ed was like "any turkey burgers left?" haha awesome. best part? they're healthy and stuffed with veggies!!!

Mamoncillos at PUBLIX!!!

Soooo....

I was at the Publix by my parents house on 4th of July. Right off the bat I'm gonna say that this is the best Publix in Miami. The produce never ever disappoints. Its delicious and sweet every time. Unlike Winn Dixie. Also the selection is great, better than some other Publix stores (like the ones here in the gables). Anyway I was shopping for BBQ stuff and low and behold what should I find in the produce section but my wildest dream come true.

You may remember I blogged about Mamoncillos before and my quest to find them on the street.

So you can imagine my glee when I saw them at Publix!!! AHHHHHH!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!! There were mamoncillos-a-plenty! But I'm sure thats the only Publix that has them.

So to anyone who wants mamoncillos go to the Publix in Miller Sqaure (Miller and 137th ave).

You're welcome.

Color Me Mine- Before you go, read this

I went to Color Me Mine in Coconut Grove today. Its one of those places where you go and pick out pottery and paint it and then they put it in a kiln and it comes out all pretty and you can take it home.

First of all, the moron answering the phone couldn't tell me anything about the location other than its behind Sandbar. So I call 411 and she's like its on Main Hgwy. I'm like..."ok Main Highway is a long street. Is there a number?" Nope. Main Hgwy. So we drove around. Fund parking. Walked around in circles for almost 30 min. I went in store after store asking people if they knew where it was till finally someone told me.

We go in there...its a lot lamer than I was expecting. Its quiet. They should have had some music playing. The only employee there was the douche bag I talked to on the phone. Great. Does he help us? No. We pretty much figure it out on our own. We pick our pieces and I'm like..."um ok so we just pic the pieces now what?" and he slinks over and tells us to pick colors. I'm like how many? And he's like "5" well thanks. Its like pulling teeth with this guy. He's not friendly at all. He's some young punk kid with a fucking attitude. Just taking up space to collect his $7 an hour I'm sure. Can you believe they leave this douche running the store?

So whatever we were there for 2 hours painting. They didn't even have paper towels or anything for us to wipe our hands. Ridiculous. Then we go up to pay. Ed did a big fruit bowl and I did a small little bowl for my keys. Total? $79!!!!! $79!!!!

Yeah. His bowl? $25. My bowl? $23. WHAT??? Then they tack on a charge per hour of being there $18. Then tax and then a $10 tip for the shitbag's service. You gotta be fucking kidding me.

Unfuckingbelievable. And after all that we have to come back in 3 days to get our pottery. We couldn't even take it home that day! No no but get this. I'm like umm ok so when its ready you call me? and he says "no you call us" WTF! am i fucking psychic? am i just supposed to keep calling to find out when my little $40 bowl is ready?

Please people, do not waste your money. Don't go to COLOR ME MINE in The Grove. Its a total rip off and just all around bad service.
