New bathing suit!!

I never realized how long I had that tired old bathing suit until ed told me that the first time we ever went in the pool together I was wearing that suit. That means I've had that thing for at least 10 yrs. 10yrs!! yes it was def time for a new bathing suit. I deserve it dammit!!!

After going through a huge mission with Lane Bryant only to find out that NONE of the stores in dade county have bathing suits! They wanted me to get one online. WHHHAAATT is the point?? Bathing suits are things you have to try on. FUCK Lane Bryant! I really wish someone would give them a run for their money.

Lucky for me I stumbled upon The Fashion Bug. I called and they told me they did have suits! Not only that but they go to size 34!! wow!! and it was in kendall!!! super! so i headed over there and they were having a big sale. i was disappointed to find that the selection they had in the store only went up to 26. in the cute ones anyway. so i said fuck it. i tried on a couple of tankinis in 26. and they both fit. but one was a halter and it put too much pressure on the back of my neck. luckily the other one was perfect. and super comfortable!! the bottoms are nice because its a brief with a skirt on top. so it covers the upper thigh area. the thing i love most about having a 2 piece is that if i have to pee or something its sooo much easier. ever tried to peel off a wet bathing suit then putting it back on?

i'm just blissfully happy. i think i look cute in it. and best of all i feel cute in it. and thats important. i wore it to the pool at my parents house. it was just me and ed. the true test will be how i feel wearing it in front of others. but i think it will go well. it covers up enough but not too much. i'm so happy!!

my ankles are swollen

it started last weekend. this hasn't happen, to this degree, since april/may 2006. they got really swollen. the doctors sent me for ultrasounds and catscans and found nothing. couldn't figure it out. all the could come up with was the heat was affecting me. but i was like...i grew up in miami and this never happened before. eventually it went away. and now it came back. so weird because i was heavier last year so it doesn't seem to correlate to weight. and i don't think its a salt thing because when i eat too much salt i get other symptoms. and..the heat? i lived in miami last year and this didn't happen.

the only thing i can think of is that i'm working long hours at a job where i sit all day. last time this happened is when i worked at PlanetTran and i was on a computer all day. and it happened around the same time of year. in 2007 i had a job at BNN at this time BUT i was only there for a couple of hours and i was up and down and all over the place. it wasn't sedentary. so that must be it.

i haven't gotten any physical activity. i go from sitting in one place to sitting in another to laying down. i never have time for anything else. and when i do i'm so tired i have no energy for it. i'm trying hard to get my work done this week so i'm not swamped this weekend and i can go in the pool and get the blood circulating.

just wanted to document this. these blogs are so awesome for that kind of stuff. thats how i found out when i last had this affliction.

my teacher's last day was on thursday. we had a little going away party for him. its all in the director's hands now. he's going to be our teacher for the next 2 weeks as he was scheduled to from the beginning. so he has an extra 2 weeks to find a suitable replacement. *fingers crossed*

Whats gonna happen with school now?

today was the crappiest monday to date.

first i woke up so tired i wanted to cry. but i managed to drag myself into the car. we forgot to get gas this weekend so i was close to E. oh great. but no time to fill up, we're running late. so i get to the mccarthur causeway to drop off ed at work and the entire bridge is a parking lot. fuuuuuuck. so now there's no doubt i'm gonna be late to class. but then all the traffic the stop and go i draining my gas. the light turns on next to the gage. i finally get to the beach, drop off ed and go to get gas. now the pump i go to, the regular nozzle is broken. grrr. so i go to another one. of course i'm filling up my tank in the most expensive place possible (south beach). so i get back on the highway and go to north miami beach. i call my teacher and tell him i'm running late. i get to school like 10 min late. when i walk in everyone has a really long face. like someone just died or something. my teacher had just broken the bad news.

he was offered a job back in cali (where he's originally from) and he's leaving in 2 weeks. *this is the sound of my world crumbling*. i'm too tired to go into the many ways we're being screwed. i'll shortly list them. either A. we get a teacher who's a complete asshole like our asshole director (my teacher's boss). B we get a teacher that doesn't know enough and we get a half assed education. C. the d-bag of a director can't find a teacher and postpones the class till God knows when. Which will totally screw me. so right now the first 2 don't sound so bad.

so yeah. some other crappy stuff happened after that (hit my knee, got blocked out of the entrance to my building, tried to take a nap and couldn't sleep) but the worst was the teacher stuff.

keep your fingers crossed for me. i've come this far, worked this hard, it would be devastating to have that all ruined due to circumstances beyond my control.

Went to Ivonne's Baby Shower on Sunday

She's such a sweetheart. Joel as well. They really welcomed us with open arms. And her brother Juanca, who i haven't seen in 10 yrs, was like "melissa!" and he was the first one to greet me. it was so cute. they're such great people. :)

i want to report that i didn't get all emotional and in baby mode. i actually was pretty whatever about it. i guess my baby receptors are being blocked by my intense work schedule. so that was interesting. ed and i did have a talk about the future. i love those talks.

Being as cliche as humanly possible.

I'm sitting at the back of a Starbucks killing time on my way to a screenwriting seminar. and i'm BLOGGING!!! lol! i will say this though, i'm not drinking coffee. i'm not a coffee drinker. and the drinks they do have here suck. i'm drinking some overpriced juice that tastes like beer.

the music is great though. absolutely fantastic. girl groups, sinatra, jackie wilson, etc. and the staff here is so cool and nice. this is the first place in all of the 3 places i've been to in North Miami Beach that has friendly staff. everywhere else they are just miserable rude human beings. almost like disney world. i got all nostalgic for my honeymoon.

the coolest guy just walked in. he's gotta be an artist. he's wearing skinny jeans, a fitted plaid shirt, a dress hat (think sinatra), earrings and thick black nerd glasses. and he was wearing an apron....like the kind artists wear when they're painting or something. i wonder where he came from.

Now they're playing Bob Marley. sheesh...i'm not gonna want to leave this place!! its quiet, comfortable, great music, and internet access. SOOOO much better than school!! i don't wanna gooo!! lol. happy FRIDAY everyone!! its my anniversary!!
